  Going to the Trelew branch and waiting... it's like falling into a black hole... 2 people attending... nobody at the ticket table... the manager talking on the phone seems not to see the number of people waiting. ..

  The first group of controlling shareholders, the brothers Jorge and Ricardo Stuart Milne, together with Emilio González Moreno, began their activities in the Argentine financial system, through various companies specialized in the stock, over-the-counter and exchange markets. However, banking activity began in 1988 with the creation of Banco Mildesa. Banco Patagonia is the continuation of a series of banks with a historic presence in Argentina such as Banco de Río Negro, Banco Mercantil Argentino, Banco Caja de Ahorro, the latter two merged with Banco Sudameris Argentina, and finally Lloyds TSB Bank Sucursal Argentina, with more than 140 years of presence in the country. The legacies of these institutions and the others that are part of Banco Patagonia, present an asset of great value to the entity and a differentiating competitive element. In turn, within the institution's growth strategy, in 2010 GPAT Compañía Financiera SA, a company incorporated in Argentina and authorized to operate as a financial entity, specialized in wholesale and retail financing, was acquired for the acquisition of motor vehicles 0 KM, both to dealers –especially from the General Motors network in Argentina- and to private customers. In April 2011, Banco do Brasil, the largest bank in Latin America, acquired 51% of the controlling group's share package. In October of the same year, Banco do Brasil made a public offer of shares and increased its participation in Banco Patagonia to 58.96%.
