  Let me begin by saying this is the first review of anything I have ever offered. For over twenty years my husband and I have traveled all over the world either professionally or for pleasure. Our expectations for service, accommodations, dinning, and activities are very high. Breaking Trails exceeded expectations in all categories. Our 17 day tour of Argentina included Buenos Aires, El Calafate, Bariloche, Iquazu falls and Mendoza. Breaking Trails , specifically Alejandro, arranged everything to our specifications, made us feel welcome and comfortable in this exciting country. Specifically, every airport pickup and transfer person was on time, cheerful and efficient. Our accommodations were superb, we were graciously greeted and the staff at each location was eager to please. Throughout the trip BT made a variety of reservations be it dinner, glacier visits or golf. In every case we were expected, reservations honored on time and the facilities outstanding. In Buenos Aries our first night dinner was at a very popular local establishment. Many diners were waiting outside, the restaurants had even set up an outside bar to keep the patrons happy. We checked in and expected a long wait. In minutes the maître de’ called our name and ushered us to a prime table. So it was the remainder of the trip. Our guides were very knowledgeable, for example our Buenos Aries tour guide had a graduate degree in history and was able to provide incredible insights to the city’s beginnings. Our guide in Mendoza was equally impressive, having extensive experience in all facets of the wine industry which as owners of a small winery we found very insightful. Alejandro , a native of Argentina, suggested activities that showcased the geography, culture and charm of his country. At the same he was mindful of his clients interest and capabilities. An example, in the lake country a kayak day trip to view scenery only available by water was an option. It would have been spectacular. However, seventy-one is a bit late in life to take up kayaking, so we opted to golf instead. He arranged a wonderful outing at the Llao Llao resort. Some general comments may be helpful. All elements of the trip that were previously agreed on were prepaid with no hidden charges or fees. Detailed contact information was provided. BT was mindful of the traveler’s needs. The domestic airline rescheduled the flight to El Calafate so we arrive after the restaurant at our lodge closed. BT contacted the lodge and arranged for food and most importantly the bar to be available late. When we emailed or called BT ‘s response was immediate. We always felt like BT was there for us.

  Breaking Trails is a great company to work with. We recently returned from a 10 day trip to Brazil organized 100% by Alejandro at Breaking Trails. Everything went so smoothly and he even contacted us several times to make sure we were enjoying the trip. I would highly recommend working with them!

  It’s our second trip with Breaking Trails and we were so happy we finally met wonderful Alejandro in Punta del Este, Uruguay to plan for future destinations. Breaking Trails provided us with highly customized itineraries for travel in Chile (2015) and Argentina and Uruguay (2018) - we would have never been able to have such seamless unforgettable experiences in so many amazing destinations. Alejandro and his team are very responsive and knowledgeable, they genuinely care about their clients. They went above and beyond our expectations on both trips and I can’t wait to work with Breaking Trails again!

  I just returned from a trip to South America which was entirely customized for me. I knew every time I walked into a new hotel or was getting ready to get on a new flight that the company was well prepared for all my needs. Alejandro and the Breaking Trails team were beyond accommodating and helpful throughout the duration of my trip in Chile, Peru and Argentina. Extremely professional, trustworthy, and knowledgeable. I highly recommend to anyone who wants a customized trip and expects excellent customer service.

  Our honeymoon was absolutely amazing. Alejandro and his company helped us meticulously plan our dream trip, even when we were a bit indecisive and wanted to revise a few times. He recommended to us the best and most beautiful places. Could not recommend him enough!!
