Kaükaz is just down the street from where I'm working now so it's not surprising that the delivery was lightning fast both times I ordered. Still, gotta love quick delivery from friendly dudes on scooters. Just keep in mind that Kaükaz is primarily a takeout/delivery place and I didn't go to the restaurant itself. The first time I ordered an XL Shawarma con pollo, pretty much by accident. I thought a friend who was with me wanted chicken, but he changed his mind and I forgot to take it off the order. Then I forgot to add my own shawarma. Hey, it had been a long, very very hot day. I also wanted to try my favorite dishes from this cuisine, and so ordered 6 falafel, hummus, and baba ganoush. The chicken shawarma turned out to be a mistake in more than one way. In a country where I've had tough, overcooked chicken more often than not, the chicken from Kaükaz was absolutely the worst. These were chicken nuggets all right — nuggets of iron ore. Completely inedible, they were so hard. If I'd been in the restaurant, no question I would have sent it back. Either the chicken had been sitting out for hours and hours under a heat lamp or they simply don't know how to cook chicken properly. Thankfully I had something else to eat. The falafel turned out to be good, and easily some of the best I've had in Buenos Aires, which really isn't saying that much. The baba ganoush, also good. The hummus was just meh. I would not order it again. It had none of the flavors I associate with good hummus. No olive oil, nearly undetectable amount of garlic (the baba ganoush had more), no lemony bite, and certainly no tahini that I could taste. The next day, because it was still hot and I was very lazy and hungover, I decided to order again from Kaükaz, this time trying an XL shawarma with carne and an order of taboule. The carne version was certainly better than the chicken, anything would have been, but the meat for the most part was quite tough and chewy. Also I would be shocked if these strips of beef came off a spit. I ended up unwrapping the shawarma and dumping the contents on a plate in order to discover the tenderest bites. There weren't many and all of them required more time in my mouth than I usually have the patience for. The traditional flavors were there, I guess, if quite muted. I appreciated the soft mint flavor of the (watery) yogurt sauce. I'd asked for hot sauce when I ordered, but either they don't have any, or they didn't notice my note. The taboule was all right, but it didn't look anything like the photo online. If I order again, which is unlikely, I'll opt for falafel.

Place was delicious, cheap and quick. Falafel wasn't too dry and warm to the touch. Pita wrapping was particularly good.

Very inconsistent. The first vist we were greeted by the friendly multilingual owner. They served good middle Eastern/Mediterranean type food typical of Armenia. The falafel and meat dishes were good and the pitas looked homemade. The second time they got the order wrong, seemed like we were over charged, and the french fries were reheated and greasy. When our order was ready they did not even bring it out to us. One of the other customers told us it was ready as they were leaving. They also have cold Mediterranean vegetarian dishes available.

Nice little Armenian takeout/delivery joint. The kebabs and falafel are good. If I was wondering past here after a night out drinking it would definitely be more than appealing!
