Best Cantina in Buenos Aires. If you like going to a Cantina, old La Boca style, non touristic but authentic local Buenos Aires, this place is the best you will find. But make a reservation!

El Tano is a great eating experience in the Avellaneda neighborhood of Buenos Aires. It's an all you can eat situation in a kitschy setting with TVs set to whatever game is on, that feels cosy and was full on a Saturday night. There's a long line waiting outside, but don't be dismayed, that's for carryout. Head inside, get a table and then it's pretty much a free for all at what amounts to $10 per person for the prix fixe. This is not fine dining. The food starts coming in fast and is meant to be shared. There are some chorizos, morcilla and other starters, salad (don't bother, your here for meat), short ribs, pork cuts and just as you're feeling stuffed, the chef grilling your food comes out with a 2 foot long cut off beef that I think was a thicker spare rib that tasted amazing. Then came the sirloin with our without garnish and we kind of quit eating after that point. All the food tasted great. The chef reheats your food if it stays on the table more than 5 minutes but doesn't overcook it. Dessert, drinks and a post meal sparkling wine with lemon sorbet are included in the meal. Be prepared for very loud interruptions to sing Happy Birthday. There is also a small play area for young children with one or two restaurant staff watching. Definitely worth the trip off the beaten path.

This hidden gem deserves every single star, meat all you can eat, excellent quality for a great price. Just make sure you arrive early or reserve a table. You can also order meat sandwiches at the street. On Sunday afternoons you can expect to stay half an hour in line for a meat sandwich, as everyone knows this place and appreciates the price/quality.
