::If Bar Loa is the paradoxical, Neolithic best lomo sandwich in Mendoza, then this somewhat clinical restaurant is the answer for the question "where is the best steak in Mendoza?" It isn't pretty. The space is overly lit and a bit echoey. The music is a flashback to the best days of Journey or Kenny Loggins. But one needs to look past the superficial. This is Mendoza. This is about meat and Malbec. And they have them both. The bife de chorizo here is the best steak in Mendoza, probably in Argentina. I challenge you to find a better one. The source of their meat is a well-guarded secret. And the process for cooking is simple: slow cooking over low heat provided by wood (leña) coals (brasas). No flame. And lots of patience. There are three dozen other amazing meat dishes. Save those for your third visit. If you eat only one steak in Mendoza, eat this one. And despite the music and the ambience, the service here is straight out if a private club in the 1960s. Come in here two days and a row and you will be recognized. And the waiters don't miss a beat despite the annoying habit of not writing anything down (and never getting it wrong!) Excellent wine list. Great salads (really). A short taxi ride from the city center.
