  I've been volunteering as part of communications team at Voluntario Global for over 7 weeks now and I have to say that I feel like I've been more than only a volunteer - I've bonded with the team so well that they have created this 'home away from home' feeling for me, where I can always feel safe and welcomed. I've been lucky to visit many of the projects VG is supporting and have seen it first hand - the positive impact the rural community projects, such as kindergartens and soup kitchens, are creating for the people. I feel privileged that I can use my skill of visual story telling to raise awareness about the power of NGO work, as my daily tasks are related to documenting the lives of other volunteers at the different projects, creating informative video material and writing articles about my experiences for VG`s website and social media platforms. The volunteers are placed in hostels in the heart of Buenos Aires, which is perfect for spare time activities and it's only a half an hour walk away (or 15min on subway) from VG's office where we meet at least twice a week to discuss the progress of our work and plan for days to follow at a very well air-conditioned office over a cup of mate :)

  Though I volunteered with VG for 4-5 odd months, it doesn't take much time at all before you feel comfortable and welcomed. VG is a very thoughtful and intelligently-run organization that offers a lot of freedom for its volunteers. Unlike many other volunteer organizations I've come across, VG has a sort of "consciousness" baked into its mission and how they introduce the new volunteers to the organization. I highly recommend you look into volunteering here, they do a good job.

  Voluntario Global works to local development helped by volunteers and communities. Work together and exchange knowledge is the goal. It is great to participate in the challenge of improving education, health and self-confidence.   Voluntario Global is an organization that works alongside with the community towards local development. You can take part on different projects related to communications, sustainable development, education, and health. You have the opportunity of getting immersed in the culture of the country and, also, you get to know people from all around the world.
