::Absolutely incredible stay. The hosts Popi and Mercedes were so welcoming and fun. We rode horses, indulged ourselves with the 3 course meals and lovely environment for 2 days and wished we could have stayed longer! Highly recommend.

::My family and I (wife, sons ages 5 and 7) spent four days at the Estancia in mid November. We had a wonderful time. It is a family owned and run place. We met the daughter, son in law, and son, of the original owner as the second generation is now running it. All extremely friendly and helpful. All speak English well. The staff speaks Spanish only. We communicated with the help of Google Translate, and my wife and sons limited Spanish and had no issues. We stayed in the main house, which consists of the original building plus later added on construction. There are 3 bedrooms, all with their own bathroom. A large living room, enormous dining room table, and kitchen made up the rest, with a large covered front porch that opens onto the lawn. There is another building with 3 more bedrooms, but we did not see them. We were the only guests there. The property can sleep up to 12. 5 star food, with the best ribs I have ever eaten as the highlight, although to be honest every meal was a highlight. We asked if we could have a birthday cake for our oldest son and had a delicious dulce de leche cake. I'm embarrassed to have forgotten the cook's name only six weeks after our visit, but she was delightful and a wonderful cook. Our sons loved her homemade yogurt for breakfast. The empanadas were outstanding. We ate outside in the yard at least once a day. Wine accompanied lunch and dinner. Tea and coffee with snacks were served every afternoon. 5 star views, with the highlight for me being a lenticular cloud (a big inverted dome cloud that doesn't move) around the 16000 ft peak you see from the yard. I watched it for more than an hour at sunset on the one night we had that wasn't cloudy. The horses were just across the yard, and wandered into the lawn a few times as they grazed. 5 star activities-we rode horses twice a day. Mauro, the gaucho, let our sons help feed the horses and help take the saddles off when we were done each day. Flowers were in bloom everywhere, on wild roses, cacti, and other wild flowers. The boys played in the creek every day and I carried a chair down and sat watching them with my feet propped up while they played, because the water was child warm, adult freezing. The boys also climbed a tree in the yard every day. We did not go on any wine tastings, but that could have been arranged. The property is off the grid and you pass the last power pole a few miles before arrival. Solar panels provide electricity via batteries. The days were long and nights short, so it wasn't really a factor for us but we were conscious to turn lights off promptly. The only traffic we saw go past us was gauchos on horseback and a few pickups to another property further up. We had our transfer arranged to and from Mendoza, about a two hour drive away. The last few miles to the property are extremely rugged. I recommend the transfer, but if you want to drive, they mentioned being able to coordinate parking a few miles away and then providing a ride. There is no cell phone reception and no Internet. There is a decently stocked library with lots of languages and plenty of board games. In case of emergency, there is a town about 30 minute drive away. Elevation is almost 5,000 feet, so you feel it if you go hiking. The beds were comfortable with plenty of blankets. Even though it got light early, the shutters and curtains kept it dark in our bedrooms. We visited in late spring / early summer, so it was warm during the day and cool at night and in the morning. The only drawback to our visit was issues with the plumbing. If you are the kind of person who has to have the toilet flush immediately every time or take long, luxurious showers every day, this probably isn't the right place for you. The toilets always eventually flushed but sometimes it took a while, and we took showers every day, just quick ones. The toilets always eventually flushed, but sometimes took time to refill. However, any problems were immediately looked at.

::We stayed here for 3 nights. Their welcome was warm and personal. The food from Zaira was amazing and there was always plenty! Mauro was great with the horses and the riding was really first class. Thank you everyone at El Puesto for making our stay comfortable and relaxing. If you're looking to get away from it all while being properly looked after then look no further!

::Highly recommend coming here to get away and really enjoy nature in a unique way. As a family run business they go out of their way to make you feel at home and host you with an authentic experience. The views from the property are incredible and provide a beautiful back drop for horseback riding, hiking, wine tasting or just relaxing. I look forward to coming back!
